Now that the New Year is in full swing, we see that many companies have started to jump on the blogging bandwagon. As you know, blogging is a crucial part of your insurance marketing strategies and should not be underestimated. If you have just started blogging, welcome! All of us Insurance Bloggers are always giving helpful tips and advice on how to improve your blog posts.
All beginners must start somewhere. I have put together a few blogging tips in order to teach you how to OWN your blog this year!
- Start a company tradition. Your blog posts should be informative, but they should also be engaging and fun. For example, start “Foodie Fridays!” Every Friday, make sure you post a great recipe on your blog. If you can fit in a keyword and link, great. If not, this is still a great way to have readers comment and come back for more.
- Start signing your blog posts. If you have multiple employees blogging for the site, make sure they sign their name at the bottom. By making each post your own, you can build a relationship with readers. It is a way for readers to feel like they are truly connecting to a specific person, not just a blog.
- Jazz up your blog page. By adding your own flair and company colors, your blog will be much more appealing to readers.
- Reach the masses. Your blog is not going to be read if you just post and let it sit on your website. You must share your link! By posting the link on Twitter, Facebook and even social bookmarking sites such as StumbleUpon and Digg, you will be throwing your blog into the world.
With these few tips, you will be taking the first step towards totally owning your blog. A boring blog written by an anonymous source is not going to get read. It is time to brand yourself as a blogger and pave your own way. You got this!
