Drawing a blank? It happens to the best of us! I have yet to meet a writer who has never hit a road block. If this happens to you, do not think for a second that your insurance marketing blogging strategy must be put on hold. There are always ways to get yourself through writers block. As your trusty Insurance Blogger, I have put together 5 things to do when you have absolutely nothing to write about. Trust me, these tips work!
#1: Look through your archives. The oldest trick in the book: recycling a blog post. You should never recycle a post that you have recently written. I am talking at least 3-6 months prior! Make sure you rework, rewrite and add to your post. Duplicate content is frowned upon and can actually hurt your efforts, so make sure you change it up. It may even come out better than the first version!
#2: Start stumbling on StumbleUpon. This website is addicting and full of random and great ideas. Try your best to stay focused and not get too carried away, though!
#3: Browse YouTube. Looking for a little visual inspiration? Watch funny videos! You are bound to have something to say and share after watching an interesting video.
#4: Read other blogs for inspiration. Browsing the internet for other blogs is a great idea to get your mind going. However, never take a person’s idea word for word. Plagiarism is a serious offense and again, the search engines do not take too kindly to duplicate content.
#5: Take a walk. Taking a walk will do wonders for the mind. Just a ten minute walk outdoors will clear your head and may even inspire you.
Just because you are drawing a blank does not mean that there is nothing left to write about! The options and topics are endless- you just have to find that spark of inspiration. Good luck!
