With the start of spring and the weather warming up, there are a variety of ways to engage your fan base on social media. Here are a few ideas that are sure to gain you some shares and retweets.

  1. Share Motivational Monday quotes to get your followers excited for the coming week. For example, “Setting goals is the first step in turning the invisible into the visible.” – Tony Robbins

  2. April is National Garden Month. Post a few garden articles and gardening tips for all your green-thumb fans. Consider sharing a blog post to help homeowners understand what is and isn’t covered in their yard and garden.

  3. Lack of adequate sleep can slow reaction time, impair judgment and increase lapses in attention. April 6 is National Drowsy Driver Awareness Day. Take this opportunity to educate your audience on tools and strategies to help them stay alert and attentive while driving.

  4. April 7 is World Health Day. Post a few ideas for staying healthy this spring, and be sure to link to a blog or page on your website highlighting the importance of health insurance and tips for selecting the best coverage. This is also a good time to reach out to employers with workplace well-being resources that they can share with their employees.

  5. Insurance Tip Tuesday: Share a weekly tip to help your followers lower their premiums. For example, having certain features, such as anti-lock brakes, air bags and automatic safety belts installed in your car, can help lower your auto insurance premiums.

  6. On April 11, share a post with some tips for keeping pets healthy and happy in celebration of National Pet Day. Don’t forget to include a link to your pet owner’s insurance coverage page or blog post.

  7. World Art Day is April 15. Share an art-related event happening in your area. You can also link to your property or collectibles insurance to remind your followers of the importance of insuring those prized possessions.

  8. April 21 is Get to Know Your Customers Day. Ask questions via Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn to gauge how your followers feel about your services and how they think you could improve. You could also use this as an opportunity to highlight a customer quote or testimonial about your great customer service.

  9. April 22 is Earth Day; this is a great day to post tips for going green and what everyone can do to help protect our planet. This is a good opportunity to encourage your customers to make environmentally conscious changes to their home or business, and highlight anything you’re doing at your agency to reduce your environmental footprint.

  10. Arbor Day is April 24. Encourage your followers to plant a tree. It is also a good idea to share some tree maintenance and care tips to help followers prevent homeowner’s claims.
