Don’t Forget About Foursquare

The hottest and most up and coming social network is not what you think it is. Yes, Facebook and Twitter obviously help out your business when used often and correctly, but another social media platform is ganging steam in popularity for the “check-ins” genre of social networking: Foursquare. Foursquare is an application that lets your friends know where you are whether it’s a restaurant, gym, office, park, etc. You can literally check in to almost any place.

If you’re familiar with the Facebook “check-in” feature, then you’re already familiar with Foursquare. What really sets Foursquare apart from other social networks is that it is almost completely mobile based. Think about: it’s not like you travel with your laptop everywhere you go, so when you sit down at a restaurant or hit up a museum, you’re going to need your phone in order to check-in somewhere. Checking in with the Foursquare mobile app is easy, too. The application will find our location and give you a list of businesses to choose from and you just click “check-in” and voila! Additionally, as of recently you can check-in to events like movies or concerts. What’s useful about Foursquare is that it also can sync up with your Facebook and Twitter feeds so every time you check-in somewhere your Facebook friends and Twitter followers will be notified as well.

So How Can Foursquare Help My Insurance Agency?

Because you’re already using Facebook and Twitter, it’s simply another social media platform to help get your agency’s name out there. Because people have this preconceived notion that insurance agencies often seem cold or sterile, showing them you’re checking into places makes your agency seem more personal. Foursquare allows you to really connect with other people and businesses in your community, and may possibly lead to some additional business ventures down the road. If you make your agency’s presence known on social media accounts like Foursquare, the goal is that they will check-in to your agency when visiting and in turn helping bring traffic to your insurance agency website.

We hope you enjoyed this post about Foursquare, so start checking in!
