July is the month when people’s focus starts to wane, but that presents your agency with an excellent opportunity. When people are looking at their Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and Google+ timelines during their vacation, your agency could be the one that appears on their newsfeed. Keep your social media accounts active this summer with these July social topics:
- With kids out of school, summer camp is a big thing on the minds of parents as they try to keep their kids occupied. Keep your followers up to date on camp registrations for community partners, and share news from these camps as well if they are doing something fun.
- July is when a lot of construction happens. Point your followers into the right direction with road updates in your area to make their commutes easier and safer.
- Speaking of roads, July is when families and buddies go on road trips. Remind them of the safety concerns when traveling long distances, and perhaps potholes they could hit with their insurance when driving out-of-state.
- The heat in July can make cars unbearably hot, and that can sometimes be harmful to the vehicle. Share ways to keep cars cool, and point them to your partners that can help your followers if their car is too hot to start.
- #MotivationalMonday idea: “People do not decide to become extraordinary. They decide to accomplish extraordinary things.” – Sir Edmond Hillary (Born July 20, 1919)
- July is in the middle of peak home sale season, so whether your followers are first-time home buyers or repeat home buyers, remind them of the comprehensive coverage your agency provides.
- The summer has a mix of overbearing rain and devastating droughts, not the ideal types of conditions for garden maintenance. Encourage your followers to care for their vegetation, and remind them of the benefits of a crop insurance policy with your agency.
- July is a great month for America’s pastime in retirement: GOLF! Let your followers know of local deals from your golf partners, and help families find lessons for their kids as part of Family Golf Month.
- Insurance #TipTuesday idea: While individual health insurance is more flexible, group health can provide you more coverage for lower premiums.
- Doing outdoorsy things are great to do in July, but nature can be nasty sometimes. Steer your followers clear from areas you know have poison ivy, ticks, or other perils. Also share ways they can treat such ailments, and how their health insurance can help.
- July is when several summer blockbusters hit the theaters. People like getting excited about these movies, so start the dialogue on your social media accounts.
- #WhipItUpWednesday idea: Pretty much every day in July is great barbeque weather, especially on the Fourth of July. Provide some outdoor recipes – whether smoked salmon, grilled vegetables, or a plain ol’ hamburger – help your followers have a good time.
- July is also Cell Phone Courtesy Month, so remind your followers of good cell phone practices on your social media.
- As with every month, July has a lot of sporting events that you are probably going to follow. Whether you are watching the home run derby or the Tour de France, don’t repress your sports fandom!
- Insurance #FactFriday: Storms in July have caused up to over $1 billion in insured loss. Make sure your clients have flood and earthquake coverage.
