With the new year upon us, use social media to help nudge your followers through the rest of winter. Here are some social media topics you can use for the month of January:

  1. #MotivationalMonday idea: “Faith is taking the first step even when you cannot see the whole staircase.” – Martin Luther King Jr.
  2. #InsuranceTipTuesday idea: “The cost effectiveness of term life outweighs the cash value buildup of whole life for singles in their 30s.”
  3. #WhipitupWednesday idea: Reveal to your audience the meals that you make when it gets cold outside.
  4. January is famous for its New Year’s Resolutions. Throughout the month, motivate your audience to keep their resolutions with stimulating posts. Cheer them on!
  5. December is when the cold temperature rolls in, but the treacherous snowy conditions usually come in January. Offer up weather updates for your area, and supply your followers with tips on how to drive through the snowy weather.
  6. The snow dumps are bad for the road, but great for the slopes. Share which ski mountains and places are the best and the busiest, and provide safety tips so your followers can avoid a bad skiing/snowboarding accident.
  7. January is when students across the United States return to school after their winter vacation. Suggest to your readers some back-to-school considerations, as well as ways to get back into the swing of the school year.
  8. Skiing is not the only thing that’s popular when snow is on the ground. Come up with ideas to share that your followers can also do in the winter, like snow shoeing and snowmobiling, and the insurance they may need for such activities.
  9. Power outages tend to happen more in the peak winter months, January being the main one. If one happens in your area, help your followers get through it with important tips.
  10. January is also a big month for football, with College Football Bowl Games and three of the four rounds of the NFL Playoffs taking place. Support your favorite teams, and supply your followers with tips and liability reminders for the big games.
  11. Many people channel their inner ornithology and travel south for the winter. Remind these followers that they need to secure their house when they leave town, and what their insurance will do in the case of an unfortunate event.
  12. January is Teen Driver Awareness Month. Share safety tips for teen drivers, and let your followers know of the changes to their auto insurance.
  13. Did you know that January is Bath Safety Month? Bring to light the liability issues with bath tubs, as well as other practices to keep your bathtub safe.
  14. Did you know that January is Clean Up Your Computer Month? Tell your followers to remember the advantages of a clean, organized computer, and remind them of the cyber troubles they can easily get into.
  15. The first full week in January is Home Office Safety and Security Week. Provide your followers with tips and liability issues with running a home business.

If it’s not already a priority, make sure your New Year’s resolution is to keep up with your social media activity and keep your audience informed!
