Long or Short, Make Your Blog Posts Stand Out

When you sit down to compose your blog posts, are you ever worried that the end result will be too long or short? When it comes to blogging for your insurance clients, you must learn to understand their needs. By learning what they care about, you can cater to their in interests and ultimately determine the length of each post by answering their questions. Focusing on what your audience wants will also help to strengthen your insurance agency marketing strategy.

If you find it difficult to say something in just a few words or in more than a few words, then you may not know exactly what you want to write about. Being an expert in the insurance industry allows you to teach others about your products, what they will protect them from, and the latest industry news. Yet, sometimes you may get too busy and feel like writing a shorter blog for the week. If this is the case, then you must make it meaningful.

Composing long posts are not always more valuable than shorter ones. If you just keep repeating yourself throughout, then no one will want to read what you have to say. This is why having a purpose in your writing is the key to engaging your audience. Sometimes your first drafts may extend over 1,500 words, but learning to trim and edit them down to something manageable will allow you to get your point across better. Always having an impactful, thought-provoking message in a post is what will truly engage your audience, not necessarily the length.

However, writing short posts all the time won’t be beneficial to your insurance agency marketing strategy. Adding variety to your blog will produce better feedback and capture your readers’ attention. So as you go about selecting your next topic, set the goals of having a clear and focused message, changing someone’s thinking, or even impacting their life in a handful of paragraphs!

  1. fantastic post, very informative. I wonder why the other experts of this sector don’t notice this. You should continue your writing. I’m confident, you’ve a great readers’ base already!

    • Thank you so much! The blogs I write for this site are just what I notice as I conduct research on social media and blogging. It is somewhat strange though that more people have not picked up on this phenomenon. But I’m glad you took away some valuable information from this 🙂
