With Thanksgiving and Christmas out of the way, we’re two-thirds through the holiday season. With New Years Eve coming up, it’s important to finish off your holiday social media strategy with a bang. For some, New Years is the most exciting and celebratory of the three holidays. Aside from it being filled with hats, tiaras, and noisemakers, New Year’s Eve is often a night celebrated by friends with great food and drinks. As an agency, it’s important you give this holiday the attention Thanksgiving and Christmas received as well. Here are some social media tips for New Year’s!

1. Make sure to offer advice on holiday info. Give your social community information such as local spots to go to celebrate as well as ideas people can do on their own without relying on a restaurant or bar. Depending on your location, some places may have a lot of activity close by. If not, there are many ways to celebrate in your home a friend’s house. If you host a party, it’s always wise to have a lot of food and drinks of varying degrees.

2. This is may initially seem arbitrary, but give your community a report of what the weather is supposed to be like. If your agency is located in a warm climate, some may be spending the holiday outdoors. If so, the weather could play a large role. Up North where it’s colder, the potential for snow could cause changes to people’s plans, so pay attention to the weather!

3. Hopefully you have been taking note of what type of social content your fans have been responding to. If you’ve been doing certain things for the big holiday season and are noticing results, keep those in mind. If some things you’re doing aren’t working as well, keep those in mind as well. After New Year’s, some minor yet national holidays are on the horizon. For instance, Martin Luther King, Jr. day, Presiden’t Day, and Valentine’s day are all coming up. Not to mention we’re having a February 29 this year, which can provide for some good trivia and interesting facts.
