The world of inbound marketing is not for those who are not willing to get their hands a bit dirty. In order to succeed in the highly competitive world that is digital marketing, you have to be prepared at all times. What does this mean? For starters, this means that you must always be prepared. You have to show up with all of your best ideas on the table, and be ready to change what your best ideas are at a moment’s notice, should it be necessary.

When it comes to your social media and marketing strategies, what are your best ideas? Are you implementing a digital marketing strategy that is comprehensive? Does each piece of the puzzle work well with all of the others?

Consider these statistics when it comes to your inbound marketing strategy:

  • Companies that blog 20 times per month receive FIVE TIMES more traffic compared to those who do not blog.
  • Blogs are 63% more likely to influence purchase decisions, compared to magazines.
  • A company or brand that maintains an active blog receives FIVE TIMES more traffic than those who don’t.
  • 59% of marketers are using social media for 6 or more hours, weekly.
  • Social media has a 100% higher lead-to-close rate than outbound marketing
  • 46% of people read blogs at least, if not more than, once daily.

With that in mind, you might be wondering how you can get your blog noticed. Understanding how to write blogs and writing blogs that get noticed read and engaged with are two entirely different things. As a business owner and marketer, what’s the point of writing the blog if no one reads it?

Get Your Blog Noticed

Based on everything we know about blogging, social media and marketing strategies, how can you create a strategy that works for you? First, understand the reasons why no one reads your blog. Then you can create a blogging strategy that works for you.

Is this you?

No one reads my blog because…

  • I recently launched my blog and have only started posting regularly on it. While it would be nice to assume that just because you have a new and wonderful blog, that users will come running (clicking?) right to your posts and engage, that is not the case. You have to work hard to get noticed. This means implementing a social media and marketing strategy that drives engagement. Consider linking your blogging strategy to your social media strategy. Share relevant content from your blog and start to get your blog noticed by building your audience there first. *Pro Tip: Take it a step further by getting engaged with other industry blogs. Comment on article pots and answer relevant questions on social media and assert your expertise; this will draw people to your personal posts, too!
  • My blog is NOT unique. Unfortunately, the Internet means that there are tons of authors out there that want to talk about exactly what you want to discuss. This means that your blogging strategy needs to focus on producing unique, credible and valuable content. Don’t just contribute to the conversation, add value to it.
  • No one can find my blog. Similar to the first problem, you have this great blog but no one has any idea. A blogging strategy is about more than creating an editorial calendar of great content. You need to put effort into your strategy. This means a keyword strategy, a social media and marketing strategy and engagement. Use inbound marketing to its full potential – don’t just stop at the content.

Do any of these problems plague your blog? Before you shout: “Help! No one reads my blog!” consider a solution that involves an active inbound marketing strategy – a little bit of strategy goes a long way!
