Your agency should show appreciation to your customers all year long, not just because love is in the air for Valentine’s Day. After all, without your customers, how would your agency survive?
Below are some ideas for how you can use your marketing efforts to show your personal and commercial lines customers love.
Post Love on Your Blog
For Valentine’s Day specifically, you can write a post about some local date night ideas. This post will not only help your target audience with suggestions for their big night, but it will also promote businesses (and maybe even commercial customers) in the community.
Giving back to your community is a great way to show that you care about both your customers and the potential prospects you have in your area. One of the biggest benefits of working with a local agency is working with a business that is invested in the local area. Even if your agency is not participating in any community events, why not write a blog about any upcoming events throughout the year? You could write a monthly round-up of next month’s happenings, regardless of your participation. If the agency or any of your staff members do attend local events, why not write a blog post summarizing your experience, and accompanying it with some pictures?
As with email and social media (and these three tactics could work together in this promotion), you can highlight one of your local business customers monthly or quarterly, posting a write-up about their services and why your agency works with them on your blog.
Deliver Love to Their Inboxes
Valentine’s Day is a great holiday for sending out an email campaign to your customers and prospects. Wish them a happy Valentine’s Day, and perhaps link to that blog post you’ve written on local date night ideas for the holiday.
While Valentine’s Day provides a great opportunity to show your love to clients, there are other ways you can do this through email, all year long. Why not send a thank you email to some of your most long-standing clients, thanking them for letting your agency continue to service their insurance needs? You could thank your commercial clients by recommending their businesses and what they provide to your other existing customers. Send out an email blast to your customers highlighting a local business partner every month or quarter. This type of email will not only show love to your commercial customers, but it will also help support the local economy by promoting a local business.
Promote Love on Social Media
Social media is a great way to connect with your customers and prospects. While Valentine’s Day is a great excuse for this, why not pick a few times throughout the year to run a contest on your social media sites? Run a quarterly contest where you offer a giveaway to your “fans”, like tickets to a sporting event or an iPad, just for supporting your agency. Keep in mind, there are different legal restrictions for contests in every state, so make sure you research this beforehand.
For your personal lines customers, you could also run a customer of the month contest. For this type of contest, you can recognize a customer every month on your social media sites, just for being a loyal follower of your agency. On the commercial side, you could highlight a business owner customer each month, perhaps partnering with them to offer a coupon while promoting their brand.
Do your customers leave you testimonials? Why not post them on social media, tagging the happy customer from which the statements came?
Local agencies are successful due to the businesses and customers that support them and use their services. It’s important on Valentine’s Day, and all year long, that your agency expresses its gratitude and love for those that keep you going and give you a reason to come to the office every day!
