Are you ready to get your social media strategy on? A few weeks ago, we discussed blog topics for the month of October and how blogging really shouldn’t be as scary as some may think. This month, we are here to tell you that social media should not be scary, either! Instead of worrying about what you will be posting each day, take a page out of the Zywave Insurance Blogger playbook. This week, we have 15 ideas to keep you posting all month long.

1. October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Encourage all fans and followers to recognize this observance and get involved however possible. For instance, if there are local events going on this month, promote them!
2. October 6th is Physician Assistant Day. If your agency sells medical or malpractice insurance, you may want to shout out to your clients and have them tag their assistant in the post. Great for recognition!
3. CALL TO ACTION: Hot apple cider or a candy apple to satisfy your sweet tooth?
4. October 7th is World Smile Day. Post a quote, such as: “Peace begins with a smile.” –Mother Theresa
5. October 11th is Take Your Teddy Bear to Work Day. This may sound childish but hey, it could be fun to take pictures around the office and share them on Facebook and Twitter! You can even ask your fans and followers to vote on the cutest one!
6. The leaves are turning, which means that they will soon be falling. Share a few “safe driving tips” as they continue to change. This can be a series throughout the month.
7. Everyone loves PUMPKIN around this time of year. There are plenty of recipes and crafts that can come from pumpkins—post a few!
8. October is Adopt a Shelter Dog Month (as you have heard in our last post!) If there are local shelters in the area, promote!
9. October is National Pizza Month. You get where we are going with this, right?
10. Did you end up writing a blog post about pumpkin carving like we encouraged you to last month? Share the post on your Facebook and Twitter pages!
11. CALL TO ACTION: Halloween is around the corner! We gotta ask: Reeses or Twix?
12. Also in light of Halloween, why not post a video of your favorite Halloween jam? Thriller by Michael Jackson, anyone?
13. CALL TO ACTION: Vampires or Werewolves?
14. Remind your fans and followers to check-in on liability coverage before the big night. Having ghosts and goblins all over your property may mean an increase in protection.
15. The last day of the month—October 31st—is none other than HALLOWEEN! Go crazy. Post pictures, recipes, quotes, songs… We know that you won’t let us down!
