The New Year will be here before you know it. Have you started planning out your killer blogging strategy? If not, now is the time—we’ve got topics hot off the press!

#1: New Year’s resolution for homeowners: Make a home inventory list. Educate your readers on a few tips to make this process easier, while letting them know exactly why this will benefit them when the time comes to file a claim.

#2: Speaking of New Year’s resolutions… Health-related posts are great around this time of year. Share healthy habit tips and tricks, from ways to quit smoking to lists of healthy veggies and the benefits of adding them to a diet.

#3: If your agency is blogging for commercial insurance clients, suggest this New Year’s resolution: Revamp your business plan. Suggest a few tips and tricks—and of course, a reevaluation of coverage.

#4: January is National Blood Donor Month. Take this idea and turn it into a local blog post by sharing information on local events and blood drives.

#5: In many areas of the country, snow is still falling. Write a post that outlines the safest and CORRECT way to shovel without getting a back injury. This can be related to health insurance, too.

#6: January is National Cervical Health Awareness Month. If you are a health insurance agency, focus your blogging efforts on awareness and education.

#7: Auto Insurance Post: Getting stuck on the side of the road during snowy weather is never fun. Share tips on how to get back on the road safely after a mishap.

#8: January is National Soup Month—share your agency’s favorite recipe.

#9: Winter Sports are huge around this time of year—from skiing to snowmobiling. Share safety tips with your clients and if you sell snowmobile insurance, take advantage of this.

#10: January 28th is National Fun at Work Day. If your agency celebrates, be sure to take pictures of office fun and festivities. These can be posted on your company blog with a short summary of your day. Take this time to truly brand and showcase the life of your agency.
