Have you been updating your onsite blog every week? We hope so! As you know, blogging is a great way to keep your customers, clients and readers in the loop about your policies and company news. To take blogging a step further, many businesses decide to start an off-site blog. To some, it may seem like extra work, especially if you are blogging onsite, but allow me to explain some of an off-site blog’s benefits…

#1: The more sites, the better. Okay, so you do not want to go overboard, but updating multiple sites with your brand is a great way to boost your rankings. Having an updated on-site blog is great, but an updated off-site blog, Twitter account and Facebook page is sure to help boost the relevance of your main site.

#2: You can build back links on your off-site blog. Having an off-site blog is a great way to link keywords back to your main site. Building links is crucial for your insurance marketing strategy.

#3: The content on an off-site blog can be more casual. Are you sick of blogging about insurance policies? Take your content to the next level in your offsite blog. Feel free to blog about local events, charities, and even tips. This is a great way to provide valuable information and refreshing content to your readers.

The bottom line: an off-site blog is a great addition to any insurance marketing strategy. However, make sure you have a good handle on the onsite blog first- one step at a time! It takes time and effort to see success and positive results.

  1. Thanks for the post. I have trouble motivating myself to update the off-site blog when the on-site one seems so important, but this is a good reminder that I should spread my efforts around.

    • You’re welcome! Blogging definitely takes time and effort which makes it hard to keep up with, but it’s really helps your efforts in terms of page rank on search engines. Even one post a week on an off-site blog is a great start!

Good luck and thanks for the comment 🙂

  2. Thanks for this good information. As you said, it takes time and effort, but it should also be considered a vital part of your business marketing and thus a high priority. Man people are probably in the dark about building back links as well, so hopefully this will help create more awareness about it.

    • Exactly! It’s so glad to see that you are aware of this 🙂 Thanks for the comment.

Keep on back linking & happy blogging!
