October is filled with ghost stories, witches, and other scary things; but planning your agency’s blog posts for the month doesn’t need to be scary! Let us come to the rescue with these seasonal blog topic ideas that can help your agency make the most of your blogging efforts this month.

  1. To prepare families in your community for a fun and safe Halloween, consider writing a blog or a blog series on Halloween safety precautions. For example, one blog can be about safe trick-or-treating tips, while another can offer tips for parents to follow about candy safety or pumpkin carving safety.
  2. You can also write a blog sharing fun and unique Halloween party ideas for your readers to enjoy. Consider including things such as food choices, decorations, activities, etc.
  3. October is known as Emotional Wellness Month. Help your readers by writing a blog sharing useful information to help people manage their stress, sleep better, and improve their overall mental health.
  4. With the holidays coming up, people are looking for ways to plan (and stick to) a budget. Write a blog sharing simple yet effective personal finance and budgeting tips to help your readers stay on track.
  5. October is also Long Term Care Planning Month. If your agency sells long term care insurance, write a blog post explaining the benefits of having long term care coverage, and share some relevant statistics.
  6. Auto battery Safety Month is also in October. Write a blog that shares information for drivers in your community about maintaining their car’s battery, warning signs of a dying battery, etc.
  7. As winter approaches, consider sharing tips for individuals and families to avoid the flu, as well as explaining common symptoms and signs. If there are free flu shot clinics in your community, be sure to share that information, as well.
  8. Host a pumpkin carving contest for your team members, and then write a blog about it. Be sure to include pictures of everyone’s pumpkin, as well as some information about the winner.
  9. October is National Stamp Collecting Month. Write a blog providing advice to your readers who have large and valuable collections, and how they can protect them properly with insurance.
  10. In honor of National Cyber Security Month, write a blog post offering tips that your readers can follow to help them protect their identities online. You can also tailor this post to offer advice to your commercial clients, since all businesses need to have a plan in place to protect their cyber security.

We hope that these blog topic ideas help you fill in your October editorial calendar and spark even more ideas!
