December is the month packed the tightest with holidays and celebrations, almost as if the universe is trying to save the best for last. To help get you into the winter spirit, Zywave would like to share with you these December social topics:

1. The joy and merriment that comes with Christmas and other holidays is balanced with the stress of present shopping. Start a dialogue with your audience on what last-minute gifts to buy.
2. On the topic of gifts, December is Safe Toys and Gifts Month. Make your audience aware of Consumer Product Safety Commission regulations for safe toys and other safe gifts people can give around the holidays.
3. Insurance #TipTuesday idea: Opening your blinds in the morning and closing them in the evening is a great way to save money on your heating bill.
4. December is the month where the temperature can drop from the 40s to the 20s. Make people aware of how the climate change will affect their home and their car, as well as winter-related insurance claims.
5. For all the people that travel for the holidays, the roads might be slippery and dangerous. Provide tips for driving on the snowy and slushy roads, as well as how to detect black ice.
6. Speaking of driving, did you know that the first week in December is Older Driver Safety Awareness Week? Bring to light tips for older drivers, and how age can affect your auto insurance premium.
7. #MotivationalMonday idea: “Education is the ability to listen to almost anything without losing your temper or your self-confidence” – Robert Frost.
8. Shoveling is a pain, right? Well it does not have to be. Share the shoveling tips that have worked for you over the years.
9. December is the month where the school semester ends. That usually coincides with end-of-semester projects and final exams. Provide study tips and entertaining study break content, and also give tips on how to avoid procrastination.
10. #WhipItUpWednesday idea: Now is your chance for you to share what you traditionally make for your friends and family during the holidays.
11. Did you know that December 10 is Nobel Prize Day? You can use that holiday to promote giving back to the community and other service activities people can do around the holidays.
12. It is hard sometimes to get out in the cold to exercise, but there are still several things indoors you can do during the winter. A few times a week, provide an exercise for your audience to do to stay in shape.

14. With many traveling for the holidays, the roads are clogged with holiday traffic. Provide tips and alternate routes that people might not have necessarily thought of before.
15. New Years time is the way many can push the reset button on their lives, a fresh slate that they can push their lives off of. Provide tips on how to choose the right New Years resolutions, and the best ways to keep them.
